More snow...

One thing about snow: it's quiet. You don't hear the SUV's roaring by, and the Hummers seem much less visible when they're driving through a blanket of white. The walk to work is soft, albeit bitingly cold. There are jack-rabbits on campus. They're huge. I wonder what they'll eat all winter, and if there's a place I can start leaving peanuts for them (some things never change). With the onset of work, painting has stalled, and the house is once more a chaos zone.

But it's great in the country.

Hi Kate and Mike
Glad to see you smiling while studying Mike...or was that just an expression of glee about your snazzy new white laptop!

Snow...hah! Oh I get it...to accessorize your laptop!!!!

All we have is rain so far...that's right our laptop is grey! I guess if it's cold...it might as well snow and be pretty too!

Hope the job is going well Katey...good time to start...just in time for the office Christmas parties...and spiked egg-nog!!

Pardon my ignorance...but what is Skype? Is it like MSN?...a chat line with a web cam access?

As for the Vogels...Lauren turned 19 years old in Ottawa on Thursday 16th...and we're hoping she hasn"t been inebriated ever since!!"Woohoo...I can drink now...legally!!"

It was strange...and sad; this was the first birthday we have not celebrated with her since she was born...I have had a few little realizations like this lately...I guess we're on the inevitable path to an "empty-nest". (That's right Kate...more room for cats!)

We've such a mixture of feelings...our Lozza was certainly ready to leave...kept flapping her flight-ready wings in our faces...and now...it's soooo peaceful...but we also really miss her!

I'm enjoying my work...always challenging and thoroughly interesting...and still too busy...but where I want to be for now. Tom's photographic work will slow down over Christmas...so we can breathe for a bit.

And Bean(Nina)...is her lithe little self skipping through school thoroughly loving being there...becoming quite the accomplished "improvisor" following in her dad and sister's footsteps!

Other news...went to the 15th Anniversary Gala for Motus O Dance Theatre last weekend...was fun to see a retrospective of their work and to wonder where their energy still comes from! They are currently dancing their little hearts out in England! Also...Gazza is having a reading of "Falling-Awake" this wednesday...can't wait to hear it.

And speaking of anniversaries...Tom and I will celebrate our 20th Wedding anniversary 6th December...we're long overdue for a weekend away...I'm hoping it's snowing by then...much more romantic!

Ok ...I'd better "blog-off" now before I get too "blogged-down" here...love and miss you both...sounds like you're settling in...
